Asthma has been diagnosed in over 20 million Americans, and 12 million have had an asthma attack in the previous year. That is, 60% of asthma sufferers have had an attack in the previous year. The burden on patients, their jobs, and families is enormous. There were 1.8 million visits to the emergency departments for an asthma attack. Tools that can help patients better manage their asthma are now available that can reduce this medical and financial disease burden.
PDAHealthWare, Inc. has developed a Breathe Better Asthma Management software that allows sufferers to monitor and track results of their asthma better. As a result, their physicians are better able to customize both acute and regular treatment choices. In addition, patients will be better able to identify triggers as a result of having a log of symptoms along with triggers such as cold temperature, allergies, smoke, exercise, and others.
The software allows patients to monitor everything from doctor appointments, lab tests, Peak Expiratory Flows, medications, and Chest Xrays.
Co-Founder and President of PDAHealthWare, Inc., Dr. Amarish Dave', states, "Asthma is an incredibly common disease that affects all ages. The opportunity now exists to better track symptoms and monitor results of breathing parameters that can help doctors better tailor treatment. Armed with this new technology, patients can empower themselves to reduce their asthma attacks and emergency room visits."
PDAHealthWare, Inc. is a leading software development and distribution company aimed at the consumer health market. Their Breathe Better Asthma Management Software is available at the company website, www.PDAHealthWare.com.
